Try to plan your journey in advance, allowing extra time to account for any traffic incidents that can occur due to the poor weather conditions. It is also a good idea to carry a snow shovel, ice scraper, blanket, torch and something to eat and drink in the car in case of any holdups and of course fit winter tyres
Driving on snow & ice:
When setting off do so gently in 2nd gear if your car can manage it, when driving uphill always try and drive in a highest gear possible but in a gear that your car will manage rather than having to change down on the hill.
When going downhill use a lower gear rather than braking and try not to use your brakes whilst cornering. Let your tyres do one job at a time! Always leave plenty of space between you and other cars.
